Stories of Essex Sociology: A 50th Anniversary Project
In 2014 the Sociology Department at Essex, along with the University itself, celebrated its 50th birthday.
The Stories project was one of the ways in which we celebrated our rich past. The aims of the project were:
- To provide a social history – a record of the department life over the years – and the impact it has had on lives in different ways
- To provide a memory bank for former students and staff – a place where they could recall times in Sociology at Essex, give short life histories since their departure, and maybe deposit photos, video clips, documents etc.
